faq Frequently Asked Questions
1. I haven't worked out in years and am very out of shape. Can I handle NuBody fit camp?
Absolutely! We do recommend that you can run/walk one mile before joining us. All of the workouts are designed to challenge everyone. If you haven't gotten off the couch in 5 years or if you are training for an Ironman, everyone is getting challenged by the same workout. You just go at your own level. Our instructors are very encouraging and are there to help you every step (literally!) of the way.
 
2. I'm already in really good shape. How will I benefit and be challenged from NuBody?
Our workouts are designed to include exercises that the majority of the population would never do on their own. Why? Because they are hard!! That being said, everyone works at their own level, but our instructors will push you harder than you will push yourself, so you can expect to see results. If you're already in great shape, we turn it up a notch for you!
 
3. I have some physical limitations. Can I still participate?
It depends. If you can't run at all and you can't jump, I would suggest using NuBody personal training instead of fit camp. If it's anything other than that, I would say that you absolutely CAN participate! Our instructors are very knowledgeable in modifying exercises when there is a case of injury.
 
4. I'm not a runner. Can I still participate?
Most people that join us say that they are not a runner. You don't have to be a runner, but we do recommend that you are able to run/walk one mile. While we do run in most of our workouts, it is not done the entire class. We have a nice variety of cardiovascular conditioning (a variety of things – not just running) and muscular endurance.
 
5. I am very overweight. Do you have a beginner class?
We do not have a beginner class. You may want to consider hiring a NuBody personal trainer to get you more prepared for NuBody fit camp. If you want to jump right in to Fit Camp,. we suggest that you are able to run/walk one mile before joining us. Once you join, our encouraging instructors will help push you (safely) outside of your comfort zone.
 
6. What is the schedule? I have to travel for work and may miss some classes.
Each camp session is 4 weeks long. We meet as a class 4 times a week – usually Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (with the exception of holiday months).
 
7. What do I bring with me to each workout?
A great attitude is the most important thing for you to bring! For indoor classes you will need to bring water and a towel. for outdoor classes, have water waiting for you in the car after the workout and you're welcome to bring a towel for the field, but it's not necessary.
 
8. What makes NuBody different than other boot camp style classes?
So many things:

Our instructors! Our lead instructors are certified personal trainers. We actually teach you the form on the exercises we perform so that when you are on your own, you will know how to do them properly. We are not the demeaning, scream in your face for you to do push-up instructors that you see at so many other boot camps. We are encouraging and will help you every step of the way through your journey.
Our facilities!!! We meet on the Lovett School campus. This is a private high school. We have use of the manicured fields, track, stadium and indoor gym on inclement weather days. Campus is patrolled by security so you don't have to worry about your personal belongings.
Our variety! Had great results at Fit Camp? Take it to another level by adding resistance training with one of our personal trainers in the studio!
